Texas Women’s University Student Union at Hubbard Hall

Upgraded Student Union includes an auditorium, conference center, full-service kitchen and dining, and more.

Purdy-McGuire replaced all MEP systems to support new spaces, which include a tiered auditorium, conference center, full-service kitchen/dining, banquet halls, and support areas. The project is 100,000 SF of renovated space and 25,000 SF of new construction. The project required close coordination with the owner regarding the building’s intended use during construction, as an existing theater needed to remain in service during the entire project. The project also required significant phasing to keep the Police and IT operations up as long as possible. We worked carefully with the University to help them with their incoming MEP services and designed temporary services so the occupied portions of the building would not suffer during construction.
