Samsung Legacy Central

New headquarters with R&D labs requiring 24/7 HVAC and backup power.

Samsung moved in to an existing 2-story office space in the Legacy Central development. The 200,000 square-foot North American headquarters building has a sleek design complete with office spaces, collaboration spaces, and labs. Many labs required 24/7 HVAC, UPS backup, and generator backup power. The existing building had an existing central plant with chillers and cooling towers; existing air handling units were in mechanical rooms within the space. PMI recommended replacement of the existing medium pressure ductwork as it was at end of life, but reused the existing HVAC equipment. All existing switchboards and distribution boards were also reused in this design. The new UPS and associated distribution equipment was located inside the central plant. The generator is located in the loading dock and was designed to meet the City of Plano noise ordinance requirements.
